GRAVITY plays to life here, and the hereafter. The songs build from strong lyrical messages, with a variety of moods ranging from great love to great loss, to the hope for eternal peace.

I asked a co-worker who had connections to the music business for suggestions on who could produce a great record. She led me to Jim Brock.

After playing some songs for Jim at his studio, Kings Wood, I did some crude home recordings of twenty or so originals. Then we met and discussed what kind of a record we'd each like to make. I knew Brock was the answer for me. And I entrusted him with the project, completely. He selected the songs, the musicians, and made structural changes where he felt the need.

Some months later we entered the Sound Farm with music industry veterans Don Dixon and Jamie Hoover. Brock played drums, Dixon played bass and Jamie played electric. They brought the songs to life, and we laid the foundation. These guys poured everything into my songs, and I couldn't have been happier, or more exhausted!

From there Brock brought in a brilliant keyboardist, Mark Stallings, and additional guitar tracks from Joe Lindsey. We worked on some of the vocal tracks, and l laid down some acoustic guitar too. And then we rounded it off with the "Send Your Spirit Down" choir. And what a choir: Beth Chorneau, Rick Blackwell, and Shana Blake!

In the end, Brock delivered an album true to my music. When I listened to the final mix of On That Cold Day my heart just ached. It was such a powerful moment for me. I'll never forget it.
